Air Loyaute
The domestic air company Air Loyaute enables you to travel between Loyalty Islands: Lifou, Ouvea and Mare.
Flights are available from Monday to Friday, all year (except on December 25th and January 1st).
The Air Loyaute fleet includes Twin Otter DHC-6 Serie 300 planes with a seating capacity of 19.
The aircraft wings are high (above portholes) so passengers have better visibility.
Twin Otter planes are not pressurized and they are noisier than other aircrafts.
The baggage allowance is:
3kg take-on hand luggage
20 kg hold luggage per adult and per child (2 to 11 years included)
Be careful, hold luggage must not exceed 23 kg
We advise you to keep a 48-hour gap between any flight to/from the islands and an international flight, in order to avoid any inconvenience (due to technical or weather problems…).
For all reservations an ID card is compulsory or a passport for non-residents.
Check in is required 1 hour before flight departure, with your flight ticket and passport at the Air Loyaute check in counter:
– In Lifou : inside Wanaham airport (next to luggage counter)
– In Ouvea and in Mare : outside, in Air Loyaute hub (indicated by a sign)
There is no cabin crew on these flights and passengers will be welcomed and accompanied on board by the captain.
There will be ticket cancellation or modification charges if changes are made less than 48 hours before departure.
The charges apply per flight segment and per passenger.
